Alaska Bruges history

Alaska-Brugge
More than twenty years ago, Ronny Veys and Peter Hacke met at the ‘Fiscaal en Juridisch Studiebureau’, a tax and legal study agency in Brussels. They worked next to each other for many years and formed a solid pair. With their respective backgrounds, they complemented each other perfectly: Ronny Veys with accounting expertise, Peter Hacke with his tax-legal knowhow. Nevertheless, they eventually parted ways. Ronny Veys started working at a social agency where he became responsible for expanding the computing centre. Peter was offered the position of partner at an accountancy firm in Bruges. Five years later, the then owner of that accountancy firm decided to retire. He approached Peter Hacke, asking whether he was interested in taking over the company and Peter immediately contacted his former mate, Ronny Veys. Ronny was soon won over by the idea and on 1 January 2003, Veys and Hacke together brought forth ‘Adfiscon.’ The new name was a symbol for the clean-slate approach by the two. ‘Openness’ would be the main guiding principle in running their company. It didn’t take long for Adfiscon to become well-known because of their unique combination of providing advice and computerization. On the one hand, the firm provided expert tax and legal advice; on the other hand it could pride itself on solid knowledge and expertise – especially through the person of Ronny Veys – for computerization of accounting processes. Six years after that date – in September 2009 – Adfiscon joined ‘Alaska.’ With this cooperative effort, unique for the industry, managing directors Veys and Hacke aim for the future. After all, the Alaska Group not only reflected their own vision of the industry, but the mutual cooperation and interaction also turned out to provide a clear added value for the associated offices. For Ronny Veys and Peter Hacke the strength and the available knowledge and skills were ‘an offer they simply could not resist.’
